Ron Ruthrauff and Susan Dancer, true animal lovers, are blessed to own and operate these endeavors from their 65 acre ranch in Blessing, Texas, on the central Texas Gulf Coast. They believe that "to whom much is given, much is expected" and feel grateful for the chance to have so many special and deserving animals in their life.
Susan, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator since the mid ‘90s met Ron when her tenure as President of the local S.P.C.A. chapter was ended and his was just beginning. They married in 2003 and began to share their mutual love affair with the animals they share a common interest in.
Together they have rescued many hundreds of wild animals, domestic dogs and cats, and many horses. They work to place all rescued animals into permanent, loving homes but many animals live their life out on the ranch including dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals.
A plan to help fund the rescue by standing a World-class Appaloosa stallion to a few select mares came to an abrupt end when the horse died suddenly in the fall of 2008.
