Equine RescueAt Texas Blessings, we believe that no animal should go to sleep at night with a growling belly, and we felt compelled to get involved in horse rescue in our area to help law enforcement officials have a place to go with confiscated, starved horses until they can be evaluated and, where possible, placed into kind, caring "forever homes".
We are constantly looking for permanent homes for the horses who are taking refuge at our facility and would like to ask every horse owner to really think about whether they have the space and resources to take on at least one more special horse. While many of the horses in our care are "companion only", we do sometimes have rideable ones available, too. Companion (often older or lame) horses should not be overlooked in their wonderful ability to teach new horse people, especially children, the wonders of horse ownership: care, grooming, safety, etc. and they all have love to give in return for the care they are given. |
